Creating a new life begins with the first step.

Let’s walk this path together.

Men’s Issues

Healthy masculinity means being honest with oneself about your own feelings, needs and desires. It also means treating all others with the kindness and respect that you deserve. Healthy masculinity means not using your size, strength, or power to get what you want from others. Unfortunately, from the time we are boys, many of us were taught to hide our emotions (with the exception of anger) and to act tough. Our strength was defined by our ability to hide our emotions, not by our ability to express them in a healthy manner. Growing into a healthy adult male often involves some the shedding of the childish notions of masculinity that we were taught. Messages like “big boys don’t cry” not only damage boys, but often lead to unhealthy behaviors in their relationships. However, once we become aware of our conditioning, we can begin to analyze it and make different, more healthier, choices. Ultimately, a healthy male is a healthy human being and isn’t that what we all strive to be?

Whether you are experiencing difficulty in managing your emotions, relationship issues, work challenges, grief and loss or other challenging life circumstance, therapy can help.
