FAQs & Fees

What happens during the free 15 minute consultation?

The purpose of the 15 minute consultation is to make sure that I feel like a good fit for you. It also serves to determine whether we are a good match. Do my skills meet your needs?

What are your fees?

My fee is $150 per 50 minute session. Please note that I will occasionally reduce my fee for patients who cannot afford full-cost therapy. If you are in this category, feel free to ask me about this option.

Do you accept insurance?

No. I do not accept insurance; therefore, I am considered an "out-of-network provider" by insurance companies. This means that you can submit my bills to your insurance carrier for reimbursement of a portion of the fee, if your plan allows. Talk to your insurance company to find out the specifics of your mental health benefit.

What forms of payment do you accept?

My preference for payment is credit card. I accept online payments.

What is your cancellation policy?

I have a 48 hour cancellation policy. If you give less than 48 hours notice to cancel an appointment, you will be charged the full fee. The exception to this is if another appointment with you can be scheduled at another time the same week or in the case of a true emergency.

How long will therapy take?

Therapy can last anywhere from one session to several months or even years. It all depends on what you want and need. Some people come to therapy with a very specific problem they would like help solving and might find that one or two sessions is sufficient. Others are looking to make significant, long term changes in their life and this can take longer. Regardless, the length of treatment is completely controlled by you. In fact, one of the early questions I will ask you is, “How will you know that therapy has been successful?'“ The answer to that is directly tied to the specific goals and purpose that you are entering therapy and this will determine the length of therapy. In accordance with the “No Surprise Act”, a good faith estimate of total cost of treatment will be provided after the initial free 15-minute consultation session.
